The CCB Women’s Cycling Team is a world-renowned cycling team that competes all over the globe. The team competes in a variety of cycling disciplines, including road, gravel, and cyclocross. On top of their long list of accomplishments on the bike, the CCB Women’s team is filled with high achievers – all their competitors are either enrolled in or have completed post-secondary education. The CCB Women’s Cycling Team believes their grit, determination, and passion both in the classroom and on the bike are the key to producing premier cyclists like Arizona State graduate Cecile Lejeune.
On May 31st, 2025, Lejeune lined up against 74 other competitors in what is hailed as “The World’s Premier Gravel Grinder,” The Unbound Gravel. A race that is over 200 miles long and includes world champion competitors, extreme weather conditions, and notorious bike crashes. Despite being a relative newcomer to the gravel cycling scene, Lejeune was able to utilize her sharp road tactics and unwavering mental toughness to finish 5th overall in the 200-mile race.
Lejeune’s race was not without hardship: at mile 5 she crashed her bike, lost track of her crew at the midway point, and was outside the top 15 at the 6-hour mark. However, even through all the adversity, Lejeune was able to push forward with grit, determination, and passion. She made the necessary adjustments, found her crew, and picked up her pace in the last 70 miles of the course. This 5th place finish is only the start for Lejeune’s gravel cycling career!
